Dr Jackson’s key interest is in evidence-based policy that delivers education system improvement. She has expertise on all levels of the education system. Dr Jackson has previously worked in early childhood policy and regulation, and completed her PhD on early childhood workforce development. She has led strategic system policy teams at the Victorian Department of Education and Training, and conducted research on education system performance at Victoria University, the University of Melbourne, and the Australian Council for Educational Research.

Dr Jackson’s expert advisory roles to government include sitting on the Victorian Expert Advisory Panel on Rural and Regional Schools, and ACECQA Children’s Education and Care Workforce Forum.
